Spring Dance?

Every year, seniors walk off to prom in their hot tuxedos and beautiful dresses as underclassmen look on enviously. What better way to make the underclassmen shine then by having a Semi-Formal Spring Dance, just for us? Not only would it give us a boost of confidence but it would also benefit all the underclassmen’s funds. I got the privilege to meet with Dr. Thompson, Mr. Rolph, and Mr. Waite to talk about having a Spring Dance. The three men were very pro- Spring Dance. But, Dr.T made it a point that it would only be for underclassmen, so we would feel important too.

Also, in my meeting, I got the clarifications on the Spring Dance. It would be only for underclassmen, and it would be semi-formal, which is basically how we all dressed for home-coming. “This dance,” Dr. Thompson says, “is not only just to have a dance but to demonstrate social growth”. He went on to say that the profit from the dance would benefit all the classes for their prom.

Students are all for the idea. Katie Bennett, grade 11, says ‘In theory it would be good, but I don’t think there would be a turn out. Like, I don’t think people would show up”. This not only shows some slight enthusiasm, but shows some of the worry the students are having. What’s your opinion? Leave a comment and say what you think about the idea of a Spring Semi-Formal Dance for the underclassmen. Go Bulldogs!
